Visitors Welcome

Visitors are most welcome to attend meetings of the Lodge of Almanzora No. 139, and to share in our fraternal gatherings in the heart of the Almanzora Valley.

Freemasonry has, since its earliest days, been a travelling fraternity. Long before modern transport and communication, Brethren journeyed from town to town and from country to country, relying on the customs of Masonic visiting to find fellowship, recognition, and welcome wherever they went. This tradition remains one of the most enduring and meaningful aspects of the Craft: a Master Mason is never truly a stranger when he enters a Lodge recognised by his own Constitution.

The Tradition of Masonic Visiting

Masonic visiting has always served a higher purpose than simple attendance. Through visiting, Brethren exchange ideas, customs, and experiences, strengthening the universal bonds of brotherhood that unite Freemasons across borders, languages, and cultures. It reminds us that while Lodges may differ in ritual working or local tradition, the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth are shared by all.

At the Lodge of Almanzora No. 139, we place great value on this tradition. Visiting Brethren bring with them fresh perspectives and insights, and their presence enriches our meetings and reinforces our connection to the wider Masonic world.

Requirements for Visiting

In accordance with established Masonic protocol and to ensure that all visits are conducted properly and harmoniously, Brethren wishing to visit are respectfully reminded that they must:

  • Be members in good standing of a Lodge recognised by our own Constitution

  • Produce their Grand Lodge Certificate, and

  • Provide a current Letter of Good Standing issued by their Lodge Secretary

These documents should be presented prior to the meeting so that the necessary checks can be carried out. This process safeguards the integrity of the Lodge and ensures that all Brethren may meet in confidence and trust.

Prior Contact and Arrangements

Brethren intending to visit are kindly requested to make contact with the Lodge Secretary in advance of the meeting. This allows us to confirm dates, degrees being worked, dining arrangements, and any other practical considerations. Early communication helps us extend a proper and fraternal welcome and ensures that visitors feel fully at ease from the moment they arrive.

A Warm Andalusian Welcome

Whether visiting from elsewhere in Spain or from further afield, you will find a warm and sincere welcome among the Brethren of the Lodge of Almanzora No. 139. Our Lodge is proud of its friendly atmosphere, strong sense of fraternity, and commitment to upholding the traditions and values of Freemasonry.

We look forward to welcoming visiting Brethren into our Lodge, sharing our work and our table, and strengthening the bonds of friendship that unite us as Freemasons—today and for generations to come.

Fraternally,
Secretary
Lodge of Almanzora No. 139
